Raymi Ortusté-Quiroga (they/them)

Raymi has been fundamental to the creation, development & practice of Chaskis Theatre.

They are an acting teacher, actor, director and theatre practitioner.

Raymi is currently head of 1st Year for the BA (Hons) Acting course at Rose Bruford College. Raymi’s work expands across the sector with a bespoke approach to directing and acting training that marries 15 years of experience and training in the Meisner Technique with the latest research in human behaviour. Their work seeks to connect individuals with their unique offering and places equality, culture and belonging at the centre of their practice.

Imogen Frances (they/them she/her)

Imogen facilitates the Meisner Monday classes.

Imogen has taught the Meisner Technique and Chaskis Practice since 2017. They are currently a core acting tutor & director on the BA (Hons) Acting & Actor Musician programmes at Rose Bruford College. Other drama schools include Italia Conti & Fourth Monkey.

They are an actor, director, teacher, writer, poet & intimacy director. Their play ; (pause before continuing) made the RSC’s 37 Plays Award Long List in 2023. As a director, their production of Paul Bradshaw’s Offie nominated play tell me straight won The Standing Ovation Award for Black Box Theatre in 2021. As an actor they have worked at The Arts Theatre, Soho Theatre & Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Josie Dunn (she/her)

Josie has been a part of Chaskis’ development, practice and performance since its inception.

She is an actor and musician who has worked extensively in notable regional theatres, as well as the West End, The Old Vic, Canada & Los Angeles - alongside screen appearances on Sky and the BBC. She frequently lends her voice to a variety of voiceover projects, and works in communications within the arts and education spheres. 

She is also a completely devoted but constantly knackered mum championing parents in the arts.

 

Huw Parmenter (he/him)

Huw is a founding member of Chaskis Theatre.

He is an actor, director, voice artist and performance coordinator. He has taught Meisner and the Chaskis Practice since 2015 and currently teaches and directs on the BA (Hons) Acting and Actor musicianship courses at Rose Bruford College. He has also taught at a variety of other institutions across the UK and America including BRICTT and UCLA. 

Huw’s work as an actor is extensive. Theatre credits include Olivier Ward winning The Motive and The Cue (National Theatre & West End), Jekyll & Hyde (National Theatre), Anything is possible if you think about it hard enough (Southwark Playhouse) and The Lovely Bones (UK Tour). TV credits include Vikings, Killing Eve & Eastenders. Film Credits include Close (Netflix)

Jessica Whitehurst (she/her)

Jessica is a Chaskis’ member and facilitator.  

Jessica is an actor and Rose Bruford grad. Training in Meisner with Chaskis Theatre, led her to fall in love with the craft and begin shadowing Raymi Ortuste Quiroga in 2020. She shortly began teaching on the BA Actor’s course and L4 scene study projects at Rose Bruford College. 

Her theatre credits include The Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare’s Globe), Cock (The Ambassadors), Nine Night (Leeds Playhouse/Nottingham Playhouse) and Cyrano (Traverse Theatre). Screen credits include Sherwood (BBC), Grace (ITV), The Baby (HBO) and more.

Alex Mugnaoini (he/him)

Alex facilitates the Meisner Monday classes.

He has taught the Meisner Technique since 2017, and started teaching the Chaskis practice in 2019. He currently teaches and directs on the BA (Hons) Acting and Actor musicianship courses at Rose Bruford College. 

Alex also works as an actor and a musician. He has worked extensively in theatre around the world and in London including the Shakespeare’s Globe; (Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, King Lear, Taming of The Shrew), The National Theatre; (The Visit, Romeo and Juliet on film) and in the West End; (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin)

Christelle Elwin (she/her they/them)

A proud member of Chaskis.

Chris is an actor and practising acting teacher working closely with and directing first year actors at Rose Bruford College. She also enjoys being on the auditioning panel. 

Since graduating in 2020 Chris has been working across TV & film.


Teya Lanzon (she/her)

Teya was Chaskis’ first ever Stage Manager, and has been a Consultant Producer for the company ever since.

Teya is also a Producer at 59 Productions, a multi-disciplinary design & production studio. She has largely worked in theatre, immersive experiences and live events, previously with companies such as Cheek by Jowl, Punchdrunk and SHUNT.
